About the Marine and Estuarine Recreational Charter Management Advisory Committee

The Marine and Estuarine Recreational Charter Management Advisory Committee is a statutory committee established under the provisions of the NSW Fisheries Management Act 1994. The Committee provides advice to the Minister for Primary Industries on matters relating to the marine and estuarine charter fishing sector. It comprises a Chairman and industry members representing seven regions along the NSW coast, as well as representatives from the recreational, indigenous, commercial and conservation stakeholder groups. Current membership to the management advisory committee is as follows:

Mr Brian Beer Chairperson	Independent Chairperson on the Estuary Prawn Trawl Management Advisory Committee.
Mr Peter Bolic Far North Coast	Experienced charter boat operator elected by the charter fishing industry to represent the Far North Coast region.
Mr Mark Flanagan Mid North Coast	Experienced charter boat operator elected by the charter fishing industry to represent the Mid North Coast region.
Mr Scott Thorrington Central Coast	Experienced charter boat operator elected by the charter fishing industry to represent the Central Coast region.
Mr Roland Persson Sydney	Experienced charter boat operator elected by the charter fishing industry to represent the Sydney region.
Mr John Paton Sydney	Experienced charter boat operator elected by the charter fishing industry to represent the Sydney region.
Ms Ann Garard Illawarra	Experienced charter boat operator elected by the charter fishing industry to represent the Illawarra region.
Vacant Mid South Coast	Experienced charter boat operator elected by the charter fishing industry to represent the Mid South Coast region. Note: Expression of interest process currently underway to fill this position.
Mr Keith Appleby Far South Coast	Experienced charter boat operator elected by the charter fishing industry to represent the Far South Coast region.
Vacant Indigenous fishing	Note: Expression of interest process currently underway to fill this position.
Ms Sanchia Glaskin Recreational fishing	Life member of Canberra Game Fishing Club (over 20 years of service). NSW Game Fishing Association delegate and Southern Zone Chairman. Previously the recreational fishing representative on the ocean haul MAC.
Ms Shirley Massey Commercial Fishing	Long family history of working in the commercial fishing industry and representing commercial fishers on a variety of fisheries related councils and committees.
Mr Attila Kaszo Nature Conservation Council	Nominated by the Nature Conservation Council. Knowledge of environmental management practices specialising in marine ecosystems, tertiary qualifications in Environmental Management.
