Recreational Fishing

Brewarrina fishing platform

Freshwater Trust Allocation

2006/07 $20,850

Aim

Provide community members and visitors to the area a safe, user friendly fishing platform.

Background

Brewarrina has many popular recreational areas along the banks of the Barwon and Darling River and because of their accessibility and natural features it makes the perfect haven for both local residents and the many visitors to the area to throw their line in and go fishing and or camp for the night.

By providing anglers/visitors with fishing platforms, fish cleaning tables, information and directional signage we can address issues of illegal, destructive and unsafe fishing practices while promoting sustainable fishing activity practices.
