Recreational Fishing

Gosling Creek Reserve fishing platform

Freshwater Trust Allocation

2007/08 $19,000

Aim

Provide community members and visitors to the area a safe, user friendly fishing platform.

Background

Orange City Council is installing a fishing platform in Gosling Creek Reserve to benefit the recreational fishermen in the area. There are currently no suitable fishing amenities in this area and fishermen put themselves at risk when fishing from the wall of Gosling Creek Reservoir. After construction the platform will be accessible to all members of the community, assist in alleviating the dangerous practice of fishing from the reservoir and allow young, elderly and disabled improved access to fishing.
