Recreational Fishing

Little Beach (Nelson Bay) Disability Access Ramp

Saltwater Trust Allocation

2007/08 $9,000

Aim

To provide access to a recreational fishing area for people with disabilities.

Background

There are no suitable or safe sites in the Port Stephens area for a person who is mobility impaired to have access to saltwater for fishing and swimming. This ramp will provide opportunities for people who use wheelchairs, walking frames, crutches or who are recovering from surgery to pass over a sandy beach to reach the water for fishing and swimming.
