Training for Fishcare Volunteers

Volunteers

Botany Bay volunteers viewing fish research/production facilities.

After you've nominated to be part of the program, you'll go on the database awaiting regional training. Once training schedules have been drafted, you'll be interviewed by the State Coordinator or one of the Education Officers. If you're successful, you'll attend a special two-day training program.

Training includes presentations by NSW DPI staff from the management, conservation, research, advisory and compliance divisions. A professional will show you how to identify fish species and you'll take part in a communication skills workshop.

Everyone who completes the training program receives a certificate.
