During the compilation of this report the following estimates have been made on advice from a number of market sources:
Sydney Rock Oysters
- 1 Bag of Plate Grade Oysters = 100 Dozen @ a Farm Gate Price of $445 per Bag
- 1 Bag of Bistro Grade Oysters = 110 Dozen @ a Farm Gate Price of $350 per Bag
- 1 Bag of Bottle Grade Oysters = 130 Dozen @ a Farm Gate Price of $285 per Bag
Retail Price is Approximately 300 % greater than Farm Gate Price.
Pacific Oysters
- 1 Bag of Grade 1 (Select and Prime) Pacific Oysters = 76 Dozen @ a Farm Gate Price of $364 per Bag.
- 1 Bag of Grade 2 (Bistro) Pacific Oysters = 20 Dozen @ a Farm Gate Price of $402 per Bag.
- 1 Bag of Grade 3 (Mini) Oysters = 150 Dozen @ a Farm Gate Price of $345 per Bag.
Weight Conversions
An approximate conversion to production by weight can be made at the rate of 14 Bags of Sydney Rock Oysters to the tonne.
Hatchery, fin fish and crustacean figures are as reported by permit-holders.
