Positions Vacant ACEC

Category A; Veterinarian

An Animal Care and Ethics Committee (ACEC) must have membership which will allow it to fulfil its terms of reference.  NSW Department of Primary Industries (Fisheries) ACEC has two members for each category (thus having an alternate member to form a quorum in the case of absence).  There are four categories of membership; veterinarian, animal researcher, animal welfare representative and an independent (community) representative.

NSW Department of Primary Industries (Fisheries) ACEC is wishing to fill a position for a veterinarian, as a membership term is due to expire.  The person must have qualifications in veterinary science and have experience relevant to the activities of fisheries or experience to provide comparable expertise.

NSW Department of Primary Industries (Fisheries) ACEC meets four times each year; three meetings are usually held in Sydney and one meeting is held at the Port Stephens Fisheries Institute.  For each meeting you would be entitled to a sitting fee of $104 (for half day meetings) or $207 (for full day meetings eg. at Port Stephens).

A brief summary of our ACEC can be obtained from Ms Jo Pickles by email at jo.pickles@dpi.nsw.gov.au or telephone on 4916 3901.
