Solitary Islands Marine Park

The Steps/Anemone Bay - North Solitary Island

All waters extending 200 metres in all directions around a point centred on the following coordinates:

  • S29o55.351'S
  • E153o23.355'
Any species of fish. All methods of line fishing using bait (whether alive or dead but excluding soft plastics, artificial baits, baits that are not animal products and baits that are not derived from animal products). At all times.

“Line fishing” means use of rod and line or handline.
“Ocean Trap and Line Fishery” means the share management fishery of that name, as described in Schedule 1 to the Act.
Latitude and longitude co-ordinates are in WGS 84 datum.
This notification takes effect on publication in the New South Wales Government Gazette and remains in force for a period of five (5) years from the date of publication.

Note 1: The purpose of this fishing closure is to implement additional protection measures for the Grey Nurse Shark.
Note 2: This closure does not affect the operation of Clauses 265 and 267 of the Fisheries Management (General) Regulation 2010.

  • E153o16.086'
Any species of fish. All methods of line fishing using bait (whether alive or dead but excluding soft plastics, artificial baits, baits that are not animal products and baits that are not derived from animal products). At all times.

The whole of the waters within the following boundaries: Commencing at the northern extremity of the eastern breakwater (30°18.535′S, 153°09.164′E) then northerly to position 30°18.200′S, 153°09.100′E, then easterly to position 30°18.200′S, 153°09.500′E, then southerly to position 30°18.800′S, 153°09.500′E, then westerly to position 30°18.800′S, 153°09.100′E, then northerly to the point of commencement, but exclusive of all land area so enclosed.

The whole of the waters of Coffs Harbour, west of a line drawn from the northern extremity of the eastern breakwater (30°18.535′S, 153°09.164′E), north to Muttonbird Island, but exclusive of waters enclosed by the following bearings: 30°18.400′S, 153°08.800′E 30°18.500′S, 153°08.800′E 30°18.500′S, 153°09.100′E 30°18.400′S, 153°09.100′E
