Shark - Blue

Characteristics

Dorsal colouration dark blue becoming bright on the sides and abruptly white underneath. The body is normally long and slender with a long snout and extremely long, narrow, pointed pectoral fins and a dorsal fin that originates well after the rear edge of the pectoral fin.  

Size

Maximum size up to around 4 m in length.  

Distribution

An oceanic, circum-global shark that inhabits tropical and sub-tropical waters. This shark occurs from the surface to at least 150 m deep.  

Confusing species

Similar in colour to the Mako Shark.
