Stage 3 rehabilitation works at Tomago Wetlands Hunter River Estuary Water Research Laboratory, University of NSW Newcastle Hunter River Estuary Tidal flushing will be restored to 62.5 ha wetland including a 3.2 km long tidal channel by modifying floodgates and carrying out earthworks to restore tidal channels. The rehabilitated wetland will provide valuable habitat
for a range of fish species and improve recreational fishing in the Hunter Estuary.

The works will include stream structures to reduce flow, fencing to restrict cattle access and tree planting to assist stabilisation.  $22751

Engage fishers and other community volunteers to restore degraded areas of fish habitat in the areas they use most. Addressing the last major fish passage barrier on Bowman River Hunter Central Rivers Catchment Management Authority Gloucester Bowman River, Manning River Catchment A full-width rock-ramp fishway will be installed and the last remaining high priority barrier to fish passage on Bowman River removed. The fishway will aid migration for fish like Australian bass, reinstate access to 10km of waterway and improve fish stocks. $40000
