Bus trips to NSW state forests (free)

Teachers learning about harvesting operations

A forester explains the details of a harvesting operation to a group during a professional development day.

Join us for a unique experience - the chance to discover how some of the 2 million hectares of native and planted state forests across NSW is managed for a range of economic, environmental, social and cultural values.

These free bus trips are designed to give valuable insight for teachers, community leaders, industry professionals and anyone interested in how forests are managed sustainably.

Forest management is complex. Through these trips, you can discover the range of issues and challenges that foresters, ecologists, cultural heritage officers and other staff consider in managing a state forest. Take advantage of this unqiue opportunity and find out about timber harvesting, forest regeneration, carbon storage, recreation, biodiversity and much more.
