About volunteer programs

Volunteer working in a state forest

Who can volunteer?

Forests NSW volunteer programs aim to encourage people who are 14 years and over to actively participate in the management of our state forests.

Benefits

Volunteers will benefit from being involved in our programs by meeting new people, learning different skills and developing knowledge and understanding of the forest environment.

By becoming a Forests NSW volunteer, you can get involved in a range of activities including bush regeneration, track construction and forest maintenance.

We value your involvement

Forests NSW values volunteer work and the role volunteers play. Volunteers are actively involved in the mission and the activities of Forests NSW. They bring their energy, interests, experience and skills to support the work of staff and they assist Forests NSW in maintaining high standards of community education, recreation facilities and general forest management.

Volunteer Policy

Forests NSW Volunteer Policy seeks to outline the position of volunteers, define rights and responsibilities, and establish the role of volunteers and their relationship to Forests NSW staff.

Volunteers will become familiar with the Volunteer Policy during the induction process at their first session.
