Hydrology Report on proposed harvesting in Yurammie State Forest
Forests NSW is proposing to harvest within compartments 963, 964 and 965 of Yurammie State Forest. The Net Harvest Area (NHA) of the proposed operation represents 3.5% of the catchment area of Myrtle Creek above the point where the Wyndham Community Water Users Inc. (WCWU) extract water at an average rate of 26 kL (or 26,000 L) per day. WCWU and members of the Wyndham community expressed concerns that the harvesting operation in Yurammie State Forest could adversely reduce the amount of water available in Myrtle Creek. A particular concern was that very low flows (or baseflows) that persist during periods of drought and upon which the community relies, would be affected.
This report outlines the results of an objective assessment of the likely impacts of the proposed harvesting operation on streamflows within Myrtle Creek, assuming 50% canopy retention across the NHA.

Independent Peer Reviews of the Hydrology Report
The Hydrology Report has been peer reviewed by two independent hydrologists, Dr Leon Bren from the University of Melbourne and Dr Lu Zhang from CSIRO. The questions posed by Dr Zhang in his review have been answered (in red) by the author of the hydrology report, Dr Ashley Webb.
