From the native woodlands near Inverell, Forbes and Dubbo, to the State forests of the tablelands around Walcha, to west of the Blue Mountains and south to the river red gum State forests of the Riverina – there are many recreation opportunities for you to enjoy.

The Murrumbidgee and Murray red gum forests and wetlands have national and international status in recognition of their natural and cultural values. Surrounded by iconic river red gums, the rivers and wetlands are popular for a variety of recreational pursuits including bushwalking, birdwatching, picnicking, four-wheel driving, fishing and boating.
