Lightning Ridge opal mining - report regarding review
The Wilcox Report has been released by the Minister for Resources and Energy, Chris Hartcher.
Chief Justice of the Industrial Relations Court and former Federal Court judge, Murray Wilcox, was commissioned by the NSW Government to undertake the review.
The Wilcox Report was commissioned to look into the problems facing landholders affected by opal claims in Lightning Ridge Management of the opal mining industry and its interaction with landholders is critical to ensuring the continued prosperity of all parties.
The report has been released for public comment for 12 weeks and submissions will close on 22 February, 2012.
