NSW DPI represented in Japan (JOGMEC 2009)

Lindsay Gilligan, Director, Geological Survey and John Watkins, Manager, Regional Mapping and Exploration Geoscience, represented NSW DPI at meetings at the invitation of JOGMEC (Japan Oil, Gas and Metals National Corporation) on 24th and 25th February 2009 in Tokyo, Japan. The meetings were also attended by other Australian representatives from Commonwealth, State and Territory agencies. Lindsay and John also met with representative of the Mitsubishi Corporation to discuss mineral exploration opportunities in New South Wales.

Prospectors and Developers Annual Convention (PDAC 2009)

Lindsay Gilligan and John Watkins represented NSW DPI at PDAC 2009, the world’s premier annual mineral exploration conference and exhibition in Toronto, Canada, March 1 – 5. NSW was represented as part of an Australian pavilion organised by “Team Australia”, comprising representatives from Commonwealth, State and Territory agencies. Lindsay Gilligan and John Watkins also joined with the Team Australia delegation in meetings with major North American mining companies with a view to attracting further exploration investment in New South Wales.

Lindsay and John attended the Barrick Gold Corporation International Night Reception to further promote New South Wales as a mineral exploration destination.
