Mineral Claim Records and Information
The following current computer or written records are available from the I&I NSW Lightning Ridge Office, for inspection, free of charge, by members of the public during office hours.
- Records of every application for a mineral claim that has been received by the Director-General. The details available are
- the name and address of the applicant
- the location of the claim area as it appears on the department's maps
- the size of the claim area; and
- the minerals or purposes applied for
- Records of every mineral claim granted by the Director-General. The details available are
- the name and address of the holder
- the date of grant
- the expiry date
- the location of the claim area as it appears on the department's maps
- the size of the claim area; and
- the minerals that may be mined or the purposes that may be carried out on the area
- Records of every mineral claim renewed by the Director-General. The details available are
- the name and address of the holder
- the new expiry date
- the location of the claim area as it appears on the department's maps
- the size of the claim area; and
- the minerals that may be mined or the purposes that may be carried out on the area
- Records of every mineral claim transferred by the Director-General. The details available are
- the name and address of the new holder
- Records of every mineral claim cancelled by the Director-General. The detail available is
- the date of cancellation
Files maintained by the Director-General and documents lodged by applicants; holders; landholders or members of the public are not available for inspection.
Historical information regarding past mineral claims may also be available, however fees may apply.
