Lightning Ridge

Lightning Ridge mineral claims

Mineral claims within the Lightning Ridge Mineral Claims District are processed by the department's Lightning Ridge Office. As of January 2008 there are more than 4500 mineral claims covering the Lightning Ridge region. Between 1500 and 2500 mineral claims are processed by the office each year.

Mineral claims are governed by Mining Act 1992 (www.legislation.nsw.gov.au). Regulations for this Act include:
