Resources and Investment

A diverse range of mineral commodities are produced in NSW including coal, metals, gas, industrial minerals and construction materials. NSW major mineral and processed metal exports are coal, iron and steel and aluminium.

The minerals sector makes a major contribution to the NSW economy in terms of business activity, investment, regional development, job creation and exports. The NSW mining industry is based on favourable geology, resulting in the discovery and development of many world class mineral deposits.
