Development coordination

The Development Coordination Branch promotes continued investment in new minerals development, and facilitates responsible mineral development in NSW.

The Branch coordinates:

  • Mineral Resources Division technical consideration of new mining proposals at the Conceptual Project Development Plan stage.
  • NSW DPI input during the project development assessment and approval process.
  • community consultative committees for exploration projects of high community interest.
  • the tender or expression of interest process for the allocation of new coal exploration licence areas.
  • major publications on the NSW minerals industry - NSW Coal Industry Profile, NSW Minerals Industry Annual, Minerals & Metals Availability.
  • Strategic projects to enhance sustainable mineral investment and development in NSW.
