Codes of practice applying to NSW mines

The following Codes of Practice currently apply to the NSW mining industry:

  • Workplace amenities
  • Control of workplace hazardous substances
  • Storage and handling of dangerous goods

The following Codes of Practice will soon apply to the NSW mining industry following the full application of the Occupational Health and Safety Regulation 2001:

  • Amenities for construction work
  • Control of work-related exposure to hepatitis and HIV
  • Cutting and drilling concrete and other masonry products
  • Electrical practices for construction work
  • Excavation
  • Formwork
  • Labelling of workplace substances
  • Manual handling
  • Material safety data sheets (supplier duties)
  • Mono-strand post-tensioning of concrete buildings
  • Moving plant on construction sites
  • Noise management and protection of hearing at work
  • OHS consultation
  • OHS induction training for construction
  • Prevention of occupational overuse syndrome
  • Safe handling of timber preservatives and treated timber
  • Safe use of synthetic mineral fibres
  • Safe use of pesticides
  • Safe work on roofs - commercial and industrial
  • Safe work on roofs - part 2 – residential
  • Work in hot and cold environments

National code of practice for induction for construction work

WorkCover NSW is inviting public comment on the implementation of the National Code of Practice for Induction for Construction Work (National Code) in NSW.
