AS 5062-2006 Fire protection for mobile and transportable equipment seminar

The Fire Protection Association of Australia will host a seminar on AS 5062-2006 Fire protection for mobile and transportable equipment at Penrith on 14 March 2008. The seminar will provide detailed information on the standard and how it relates to heavy mobile and transportable equipment. It will also discuss the risk-based approach from a regulator's viewpoint as well as that of fire protection system manufacturers, installers and operators. Currently under revision. It is proposed the revision will change the title to MDG 1 - Mobile and Transportable Equipment for Underground Coal Mines and include four parts:

• Part 1 - General Requirements
• Part 2 - Ancillary / Auxiliary Devices and Systems
• Part 3 - Braking Systems for Free Steered Vehicles
• Part 4 - Stability, Steering Systems and Towing for Free Steered Vehicles ( Draft not yet available )
