Gas detection and monitoring plant and items

The Occupational Health and Safety Regulation 2001 requires gas detection and monitoring plant and items used in underground coal mines to be design registered. A list of registered gas detection plant is available for download below.

Also previously approved and currently in-use plant identified in List of Gas Detector and Monitors Suitable covered by Exemption Order 08/9222-1 may be used in underground mines at a coal workplace, subject to the conditions within Exemption Order 08/9222-1.
