Summary

The second paper from Birgit Löcker's Ph.D. project revising the Australian planthoppers of the family Cixiidae treats the tribe Pentastirini. As with the Gelastocephalini, this tribe contained numerous previously unknown species and this paper increases the known Australian fauna from 18 species in five genera to 56 species in seven genera. Keys for identification of the genera and species are provided.
