Catch Research Program results

van der Walt, B. 2002. Catch Research Program results. NSW Fishing Monthly, February 2002. pp 65.

Summary

During August and September this year, NSW Fisheries Scientists monitored a number of fishing competitions as part of the Anglers Catch Research Program. The program involves the collection of angling catch data which is used to monitor catch rates and the population structure of fish populations in rivers and impoundments throughout NSW. Anglers fishing in the events were asked to complete a form detailing fish catch and fishing times. Catch data for each of the competitions are summarised. This information contributes to the development of appropriate management strategies for freshwater fisheries throughout NSW.
