Elizabeth Macarthur Agricultural Institute overview

The Elizabeth Macarthur Agricultural Institute (EMAI) is NSW Department of Primary Industries' centre for Animal and Plant Health.

With more than 200 staff, EMAI undertakes research, diagnostics, and advisory services.

EMAI scientists, many being world leaders in their fields, are dedicated to providing agricultural and veterinary solutions of international standard. They oversee teams working to diagnose, control and prevent animal and plant diseases, minimise waste of natural resources and improve Australia’s agricultural competitiveness.

EMAI helps to achieve and maintain the disease-free status which gains Australia substantial advantages in international markets for livestock and plant products.
