- The Hawkesbury Forest Experiment, a collaborative project between UNSW, UTS, UWS, Macquarie University and DPI initially funded by the Australian Greenhouse Office to investigate the impact of climate change on Australian forests commenced in June, 2005. This is an international project with involvement of Professor Sune Linder of the Swedish Agricultural University, Prof Rich Norby of Oak Ridge, Tennessee and Prof Ram Oren of Duke, North Carolina.
- IEA Bioenergy Task 38, an international collaborative project working on developing methods and promoting best practice in assessing greenhouse gas balances of biomass and bioenergy systems. Dr Annette Cowie's role as National Team Leader is continuing.
- Department of Environment Climate Change and Water, Xstrata Ravensworth Operations: Application of recycled organics in mine site rehabilitation.
