Glen Innes Agricultural Research and Advisory Station comprises 580ha, 20 staff members and infrastructure for grazing industries research.
Facilities
One of Australia’s oldest (commenced in 1921) long-term crop rotation studies.
- Heritage-listed buildings with office and administration facilities connected to NSW DPI’s state-wide computer network
- Bureau of Meteorology weather station (Meteorological Station 056013)
- Seeds laboratory, glasshouse complex and a germplasm resource centre (National White Clover GRC) for breeding perennial grasses and legumes
- Field plots nursery and demonstration pastures

Staff
National White Clover GRC glasshouse
Field staff have advanced expertise with pasture development and livestock husbandry. The Centre’s management and field staff are renowned for their capacity to deliver ‘best practice’ technology to research projects. The station has ‘cattle-care’ accreditation, and field staff have ‘safe chemical use’ accreditation.
Recently, the station received the Eric Powell Shield for recognition of commitment to NSW DPI’s goals for achieving excellence with OH&S.
