Technology Transfer Unit, Australian Cotton Research Institute

NSW Department of Primary Industries (NSW DPI) cotton extension staff at Australian Cotton Research Institute (ACRI) join with other extension staff from Cotton Research and Development Corporation and the Queensland Department of Primary Industries & Fisheries to transfer research outcomes to cotton farmers.

The whole extension team is co-ordinated by NSW DPI under the banner of the Cotton CRC with the aim of improving industry wide adoption of new and better technology, including:

  • Best Management Practice (BMP)
  • guidelines for Integrated Pest Management (IPM)
  • Insecticide Resistance Management (IRM), and,
  • Natural Resource Management (NRM).

An integral part of the extension team is the Technology Resource Centre based at ACRI.

The centre collects and distributes resource materials and provides a valuable resource back-up to producers.

It also provides immediate access to key industry organisations through its grower database and internet site.
