Port Stephens Fisheries Institute

The Port Stephens Fisheries Institute (PSFI) is located at Taylors Beach approximately 10 km from Nelson Bay in the Port Stephens Council area (32.724 S, 152.146 E).

The Institute is approximately 10 km from Nelson Bay, 60 km north-east from Newcastle and 150 km north from Sydney.

This Institute is a multi-disciplinary centre with staff from five divisions within Primary Industries based on-site.

There are approximately 90 staff based on-site. The research leaders at the Port Stephens Fisheries Institute also manage other research offices at the Narrandera Fisheries Centre, the Grafton Aquaculture Centre and the Inland Saline Aquaculture Research Centre, Wakool.
