Environmental Management Systems at Trangie ARC

An Environment Management System (EMS) is a tool for managing the impacts of an organisation's activities on the environment. It provides a structured approach to planning and implementing environment protection measures.

Through the adoption of an environmental policy, NSW DPI commits itself to:

  • preventing pollution and any adverse effects on the environment as a result of its activities. NSW DPI facilities will continue to implement plans to reduce energy consumption and waste generation.
  • complying with all relevant environmental legislation, codes of practice, government instructions, and management guidelines.
  • documenting, maintaining and communicating NSW DPI's environmental policy to all persons working for, or on behalf of, its research centres and stations. The statement will be displayed throughout centres and made available via NSW DPI internal communications. It will also be made readily available to the general public.
