Laboratory Services at Wollongbar Primary Industries Institute

The laboratories at Wollongbar

The laboratories at Wollongbar

The Institute's laboratories offer comprehensive analytical and diagnostic services to rural industries, landowners, research staff, the general public and government agencies.

Environmental Laboratory

The Environmental Laboratory analyses soil, water, animal and plant products, and essential oils for a wide range of components and for pesticide residues and PCBs. The results of pesticide residue analysis of fat contribute to the NSW data for the National Residue Survey. Our tests of fruit and vegetables for pesticide residues ensure market access for producers and consumer confidence in these products. During the dipping season cattle dips are tested to ensure tickicide concentrations are at effective levels.

Environmental and Agricultural Health Team

The Environmental and Agricultural Health Team at Wollongbar offers specialised analyses for endocrine disrupting chemicals, dioxins and biological tests of soil health.
