Damian COLLINS
Research interests
- Computational statistics
- Generalised linear mixed models (GLMMs)
Background
Damian Collins joined NSW DPI* as a biometrician in 1996, after working at the Australian Bureau of Statistics from 1991-5. Currently he is completing a PhD examining computationally efficient approaches for GLMMs. He is also part of a team commencing work on a redesign of the ASReml software (http://www.asreml.com). He also provides computational support for other NSW DPI biometricians.
*NSW Department of Primary Industries was formed on July 1, 2004 through an amalgamation of NSW Agriculture, NSW Fisheries, State Forests of NSW and the NSW Department of Mineral Resources.
Qualifications
- B.Sc. (Statistics) – UNSW 1990
