Background
David Jordan is a Principal Research Scientist with Industry and Investment NSW based at Wollongbar Primary Industries Institute. Prior to becoming a full time researcher he obtained 12 years of experience as a field veterinarian at various locations in south-eastern Australia, working on a wide range of issues from disease eradication (TB, Brucella, external parasites, ovine footrot) to integration of animal health with animal management. Following doctoral training in epidemiology and food safety at the University of Guelph (Ontario, Canada), David has focused on a range of veterinary public health issues working with a variety of collaborators throughout Australia and abroad. He has close association with industry, universities and government bodies and regularly contributes to national and international forums in epidemiology and food safety. He has authored computer software that is in widespread use in veterinary teaching and research institutions around the world and is active in supervising graduate and undergraduate students in food safety and epidemiology.
