Background
Idris Barchia is a special biometrician at Elizabeth Macarthur Agricultural Institute (EMAI), Menangle. He provides biometrical support to researchers and extension officers within EMAI Menangle and Hawkesbury District Office.
Idris joined NSW Agriculture* Research Station Trangie in 1988 and worked in collaboration with researchers primarily on experiments in cereal cultivars, rangeland grasses and sheep breeding. In 1991 he transferred to Biological and Chemical Research Institute (BCRI), Rydalmere where he then worked closely with entomologists.
In 1996 Idris was transferred to the current research institute where he works with microbiologists, veterinary researchers, entomologists and plant pathologists.
*NSW Department of Primary Industries was formed on July 1, 2004 through an amalgamation of NSW Agriculture, NSW Fisheries, State Forests of NSW and the NSW Department of Mineral Resources.
