Simon DIFFEY
Research interests
- Statistical genetics
- Stochastic processes
- Linear mixed models
- Statistical computing
Background
Simon Diffey joined NSW DPI as a biometrician in 2002. From 2002 to 2006 he provided biometrical support to NSW DPI researchers and the NSW Agricultural Genomics Centre.
In 2007 Simon commenced a full-time PhD through the Australian National University with the financial support of NSW DPI and GRDC. The purpose of his PhD is to find a more efficient method for identifying quantitative trait loc (QTL).
Qualifications
- B. Ec. – University of Sydney
- Grad. Dip. Econometrics – University of New England
- M. App. Stat. – Macquarie University
Current projects
PhD (Stochastic variants of the EM algorithm for fitting complex genetic models)
