Background
Tony Tyler provides scientific leadership for the analytical and diagnostic service effort to the NSW Department of Primary Industries organic chemistry laboratory located at the Wollongbar Agricultural Institute.
He joined NSW Agriculture* in 1991 as the chemist in charge of the cattle dip testing laboratory which came under the Cattle Tick Program. He moved to the Chemical Research Laboratory (CRL) at Lismore in 1999 and was there until the CRL amalgamated with the Organic section at Wollongbar.
Tony has over 30 years scientific laboratory experience in Primary Industry and other analytical chemistry laboratories in Australia. He has co-authored 12 scientific papers, mainly in peer-reviewed publications.
He is currently an Analytical Chemist at Wollongbar and an advisor to the World Health Organisation on Pesticide Formulation Specifications.
*NSW Department of Primary Industries was formed on July 1, 2004 through an amalgamation of NSW Agriculture, NSW Fisheries, State Forests of NSW and the NSW Department of Mineral Resources.
