Background
Verity Gett is the Research Agronomist for the High Yielding Irrigated Grains in Cotton Farming Systems project. The project is a joint collaboration between the NSW DPI, QDPI, Cotton CRC and GRDC. Verity commenced work on the project in March 2008. This is Verity’s first research position.
Verity has 10 years experience in the irrigated cotton industry in the Namoi Valley, NSW. Verity began working as a private consultant and then went on to the position of Farm Agronomist on a large scale privately owned cotton farm for 5 years prior to joining NSW DPI.

- Dip Ed (Secondary) - University of New England, 2008
Current projects
- Improving the establishment of cereal crops following cotton in the northern cropping region.
- Optimising plant populations and row spacing required to consistently achieve high yielding cereals following cotton in the northern cropping region.
- Establishing best practice recommendations for achieving high yielding cereals in rotation with cotton in the northern cropping region.
- Evaluating and demonstrating irrigation scheduling best practice for high yielding cereals in rotation with cotton in the northern cropping region.
