NATIONAL CENTRE | National Centre for Rural Greenhouse Gas Research to be led by Annette Cowie
Minister for Primary Industries Ian Macdonald today announced the appointment of Professor Annette Cowie as the inaugural Director of the new National Centre for Rural Greenhouse Gas Research at Armidale.

AWARD | Edible oils researcher recipient of 2009 Farrer Memorial Medal
Farrer Memorial Trust Chairman, Dr Richard Sheldrake, today announced well known oils researcher Dr Rodney Mailer as the winner of the 2009 Farrer Memorial Medal.

COLLABORATION | State Government and University of Newcastle celebrate new research collaboration

AWARD | Orange based research project wins CRC award
NSW Minister for Primary Industries, Ian Macdonald, today congratulated Dr Kevin Atkins and his Orange based research team on their win in the Cooperative Research Centres (CRC) Awards for Excellence and Innovation for their work on the Precision Sheep Management (PSM) project.

SCIENTIFIC OUTPUTS | Beef CRC II features 14 DPI researchers
Understanding whether carcass and beef quality attributes can be changed by genetic selection or through management processes without unduly compromising key fitness traits like reproductive performance and adaptation to environmental stressors drove research at the Beff CRCII. The Special Edition of the latest Beef CRC Special Edition published in Animal Production Science features NSW DPI scientists, economists and biometricians on 14 of the 17 papers, and on the Foreword.

PEST CONTROL | Virus vector unveiled
