A newsletter for rural women and their families
The Country Web newsletter is produced by NSW Department of Primary Industries Rural Womens Network (RWN). The newsletter is a source of information and support for women dealing with the many aspects of rural life. Through the newsletter women are able to share ideas, issues, inspiration, information, experiences and opportunities.
Each edition of The Country Web focuses on a particular issue, with past editions highlighting family, health, education, work and employment, finance, value adding, women in decision making, the law, isolation and the environment. As well as issues based articles, the newsletter also provides regular columns including women and the law, decision-making, education and training, grants and funding, womens health, resources, your say, natural resource management updates and book reviews.
Now in its 16th year of publication, The Country Web is well established and recognised by the wider community. It has become a valuable resource for government and non-government agencies to exchange information with the rural sector.
The Country Web is published three times a year. 13,000 copies are printed and distributed free. It is also available to download from the RWN website.
Next issue
The theme for the No.51 edition of The Country Web will be 'My Heart, My Country'. It will provide an opportunity for rural women to share their stories of their connection to the land or their country in a cultural sense, as farmers, as community members or as return residents.
We are looking for stories from Indigenous women, women from culturally diverse backgrounds, from women who have made a 'tree or sea change' or who have returned to their home town after being away.
We welcome your ideas, as well as other information of interest, stories, poems and pictures. Please send contributions to the RWN.
Deadline for contributions is 28 September 2009 for publication in December.
