Women on Boards - A national program to improve the gender balance on Australian company boards through skills based selection. The program funds research as well as networking and mentoring events. Support services

The Australian General Practice Network (AGPN) supports Divisions of General Practice in New South Wales through the Mental Health Support for Drought Affected Communities Initiative to build the capacity of rural and remote communities with the provision of psychosocial and mental health support. The Initiative is designed to assist individuals and families in areas experiencing extreme climatic events such as drought, floods and bushfires. Community Support Workers (CSWs) engaged under the Initiative also provide community awareness activities and education and training for health workers and community leaders.

Life Line - Provides a 24-hour telephone counselling service as well as face-to-face counselling services in many Lifeline Centres.

Mensline Australia - A national telephone support, information and referral service for men with family and relationship concerns. The service is available from anywhere in the Australia for the cost of a local call, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and is staffed by paid professional counsellors, experienced in men’s issues.

NSW Rural Financial Counselling Service - Northern Region - Talk to your local Rural Financial Counsellor for help with - Identifying business options, cash flow budgeting, financial analysis, facilitating meetings with lenders and financial institutions, referrals and information on government assistance

Relationships Australia - Provides free counselling for individuals, couples, families and community members whose lives have been affected by the drought.

Rural Law Online - As we are all aware, Australia is currently going through its worst drought on record. As a result, rural communities are experiencing severe financial and emotional hardships. These have direct legal consequences and for many, legal assistance is out of reach. To support rural Australians, Rural Law Online has developed the Drought Law Forum – an online forum which offers legal information provided by 27 volunteer lawyers from around Australia. These experts will respond to any legal questions posted online. The service is both free and anonymous. This forum is a practical way of helping those who need a hand through these tough times.

The Source! - A Commonwealth Government Youth Site

Young Australians - The Foundation for Young Australians has released a major web-based resource for organisations and individuals that work with young people. The 'Profile of Young Australians' looks at the lives of young people in Australia, drawing on data gathered from a wide variety of organisations. Key areas covered include demographics; family life; the financial circumstances of young people; young people in need of protection; the health of young people; lifestyle and health risk behaviours; leisure time activities; young people and the law; secondary school education; participation in further education, training and work; and young people and civil society.
