Report by Sonia Muir who attended the 4th World Congress of Rural Women, hosted by the South African Government, in Durban with over 2,500 women from 60 countries participating.

The African Congress focused on broad rural issues as well as agriculture. The sub-themes explored at the 2007 Congress were: Globalisation and eradicating impoverishment; Peace and stability; Governance for rural development at all levels; Environmental security and access and control of resources; and Health.
