This 15 page document was prepared by the Rural Women's Network State Advisory Committee (SAC).

At the June 2006 SAC meeting, members discussed a need to capture information and statistical data which highlighted the many differences for people living in rural areas in contrast to city dwellers.

This information can be used to substantiate discussions about the rural/urban divide. It is hoped that the information will be promoted through key networks as a tool for increasing, in particular, urban women’s understanding of selected rural issues.

It is intended that the document will be progressively updated.
