Historic biosecurity Budget boost

The Minns Labor Government will invest over $140 million of new funding to safeguard the future of our states agricultural industry. As part of the Government’s comprehensive plan to build better regional communities this year’s state budget will continue the government’s focus on strengthening the state’s biosecurity program with and primary industries research capabilities.
As NSW fishers celebrate ‘Gone Fishing Day’ on Sunday 19 October 2025, fishing clubs and associated organisations are encouraged to join in the state-wide festivities by hosting their own events.
High schools Get Hooked on new fishing program

The Minns Labor Government’s highly successful primary school fishing education program which has introduced more than 70,000 students to the joys of fishing, is set to expand into NSW high schools from today.
National Emergency Medals were presented by the Minister for Agriculture Tara Moriarty at NSW Parliament to nine staff from the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD) who provided critical support during the 2019-20 bushfire emergency, thanking them for their dedication and support during the state crisis.
The NSW Farm Business Resilience Program (FBRP) marked a significant milestone last week, welcoming 116 alumni and guests to the 2025 Coaching Alumni Gathering, 29-30 May.
