Help wanted to locate shark tag

Wollongong and Shellharbour residents – we need your help! Someone has picked up a state of the art shark tag that has washed up on a beach and is currently enjoying a tour of Wollongong.

Minister for Agriculture Adam Marshall today pulled on the waders to help return 130, metre-long Murray Cod to their native waterways near Tamworth.

More than 70 years after the species were last recorded in the catchment, 7,500 juvenile Macquarie Perch have been released back into the Macquarie River catchment at Winburndale Dam, Minister for Agriculture Adam Marshall announced today.

Anglers are reminded that the annual fishing closure for Australian Bass and Estuary Perch from all rivers and estuaries in NSW will commence on 1 May for the next four months.

NSW Department of Primary Industries (DPI) and North Coast Local Land Services (LLS) have urged producers to monitor crops for fall armyworm damage this autumn to help develop a better understanding of the behaviour of the voracious pest in local farming systems.
