New local opportunities through Belgenny Farm contract

Local jobs and contracts for local suppliers are on the cards thanks to a new partnership between NSW Department of Primary Industries (DPI) and Chilterns Catering and Events, a Peter Rowland company.

The Sydney based company has been awarded the Belgenny Farm catering contract through a recent procurement process conducted by DPI.

Belgenny Farm is located at DPI’s Elizabeth Macarthur Agricultural Institute and houses arguably the most important collection of colonial farm buildings in Australia. The property is being developed as a major educational centre with direct links to Australia's agricultural history and the picturesque setting is a popular venue for weddings and corporate events.

Deputy Director General Agriculture Kate Lorimer-Ward said DPI are excited to partner with Chilterns to continue building the legacy of Belgenny farm.

“Chilterns will be working with the Friends of Belgenny Farm and Belgenny Farm Trustees to contribute to a longer term vision for the site,” Ms Lorimer-Ward said.

“We are excited about the fresh ideas that Chilterns will be able to bring to the table and the opportunities for local suppliers that will arise from this partnership.”

Ryan Fox, State Manager of Chilterns Catering and Events said they are looking forward to being part of the Camden and Greater Western Sydney community.

“At Chilterns we are committed to delivering unique food experiences and we look forward to being able to offer a range of new community events in the Camden area,” Mr Fox said.

“We love what we do, we love food and we deliver it with distinction. To us, this means engaging with local suppliers and employing local staff to showcase the best this region has to offer.”
