7 Jan 2020

NSW Department of Primary Industries (DPI) Tocal College and NSW Farmers’ Association have called on business owners, managers and supervisors in the cotton and grains industries to attend a new work, health, safety (WHS) and human resources (HR) course.

WHS and HR Fundamentals courses will commence in Wagga Wagga on Wednesday 19 February and Griffith on Thursday 20 February, with registrations open until Wednesday 15 January.

NSW DPI education delivery manager, Julie White, said the course was developed in response to demand from industry.

“Participants will learn how to improve health and safety outcomes in the workplace and better manage staff with the aim of giving their team the best and getting the best from them,” Ms White said.

“Managing an agricultural business can be complex and this course is designed to deliver the information and skills which can help save time and lift business efficiency.

“It’s important owners and managers understand what is required by legislation and the course will give participants a better understanding of their legal requirements.”

Registration is essential for the course which is available at no cost to eligible applicants.
