Dr. Kardailsky has had an extensive and productive research career that covered 7 countries, over the last 30 years, and many areas of plant biology. His most influential discoveries were made in genetics of flowering in model plant species, and in symbiotic nitrogen fixation. Recently, he has been fascinated with advances in machine learning and artificial intelligence, and its application for scientific data analysis.

He is working on models that link remote sensing imagery and meteorological data with on the ground measurements of plant and animal productivity, in a multi-year, multi-site dataset, to build the foundation for efficient and expedient development of grazing farm management tools, like the GrazingApp project.
