Suzanne Boschma has over 20 years experience in pasture grass and legume field-based research, including agronomy of tropical perennial grasses, grass-legume mixes and species evaluation.

Suzanne first joined the department in 1991 for 3 years as a Technical Officer in the Lucerne Breeding Program. In 1997, after completing a PhD, she re-joined NSW Agriculture* as a Research Agronomist and has undertaken research projects in phalaris cultivar evaluation and development, and pasture species evaluation for recharge and saline discharge environments. More recently Suzanne’s research has focussed on the agronomy of tropical pastures in improve their adoption in farming systems in northern NSW. Currently Suzanne is leading a large state-wide project to determine the potential of tropical pastures in farming systems in southern Australia. She is located at the Tamworth Agricultural Institute.

*NSW Department of Primary Industries was formed on July 1, 2004 through an amalgamation of NSW Agriculture, NSW Fisheries, State Forests of NSW and the NSW Department of Mineral Resources.
