The NSW Department of Primary Industries has recently launched the Farm Business Resilience Program; a program jointly funded through the Australian Government’s Future Drought Fund and the NSW Department of Primary Industries (DPI) that gives farmers the skills and knowledge they need to;build resilience to future droughts. This program is one of eight farm Business Resilience Programs around Australia, all with the vision to assist farmers and regional communities in NSW with the risk management tools and capabilities they need to build economic, environmental and social resilience.
Our program aims to achieve these goals through business coaching delivery, workshops & networking events, provision of business tools and resources. The first round of business coaching has already begun, with over 140 farmers from across NSW now working one-on-one with coaches. DPI has proudly partnered with Local Land Services to deliver a series of workshops and events across NSW. We are working with industry partners to deliver resources and the Young Farmer Business Program is committed to engaging with younger farmers to develop their business skills.
