Learn to Zoom

With the landscape continuing to change due to COVID-19 and technology becoming more of an everyday necessity, it’s so important that rural women in farming and fishing have the skills and knowledge to be able to be flexible with how they work and interact with other people – ensuring they remain connected online.

Rural Women’s Network are offer a 1-hour session to introduce you to the basics of using Zoom - the online video conferencing platform. In these short sessions, Dimity will take participants through the steps to be able to successfully do the following:

  • Know how to dial in
  • Know how to start and end a call
  • Know how to navigate the way around the app on a smart phone or desktop
  • Know how to ask a question or use the chat box
  • Know how to see who is participating in a call
  • Know how to turn on or off your screen and how to mute or unmute your microphone
  • Know how to get your own account through the Zoom.us website
  • Know how to set up or schedule a Zoom call and send the information to someone
  • Know how to change your background and jump into a breakout room
  • And much more!

The online workshop can host up to 40 participants and is suitable for anyone of any age or background – the only requirement is an internet connection and a computer or smartphone (computer is recommended as best for this session).
